Our client is looking for two Network Fitters to join their team. One to join the team in Jersey and one to join the team in Guernsey.
The Network Fitter will work as part of a team to maintain and improve the distribution network, carrying out tasks necessary to ensure quality of services provided within the gas distribution network.
The daily Duties will include:
Carry out work on the network as instructed by the Network Lead.
Mains Replacement.
New Service Installations.
District Governor maintenance.
Dial before you dig.
Mains surveying.
Service disconnections.
General duties as the business may require in other functions.
Support the Network Lead in the Company’s response in dealing with PRE’s and Confer with the Duty Personnel in the evaluation and management of Public Reported Emergencies.
Perform tasks on the gas distribution network as directed by the Network Lead.
Carry out routine and non-routine maintenance work on gas distribution network and associated equipment as directed and scheduled by the Network Lead.
Assist in providing technical expertise in the resolution of hazards.
Assist in the collection and reporting of operational data associated with the gas distribution network.
Work with the team on the solution of hazards and events and investigate and control of leakage on the gas distribution network.
In conjunction with the Network Lead provide the full range of information and accurate drawings of the distribution network for work carried out by your team.
Ensure tasks are carried out with minimal disruption to customers and in an efficient manner.
Work in conjunction with contractors.
On site liaison with the public and external agencies.
Participate on the emergency call out duty Rota on a 1 week in every 4 week throughout the year.
The successful Candidate will have the following:
Sound operational knowledge of gas distribution networks (Natural Gas and LPG)
Experience of dealing with gas emergencies and the classification of emergencies
Level 2 – City and Guilds Network Construction Operations CN02 Service layer
Full clean driving licence
Team player with a positive attitude
Desirable Skill Set but not limited to:
5 years’ experience in a gas or similar industry.
Main layer.
EUSR registered.
N.R.S.W.A. Operative.
SCO trained.
Governor maintenance.
