Job Description


An opportunity has arisen for a competent contract Customer Service Engineer to join our client’s friendly team in Jersey on a six-month contract, with an option to extend for a further six months.


You will support the Customer Operations and Asset Management teams focusing on gas meter installation and ancillary equipment upgrades, following our meter asset survey.


The daily duties will include:


  • Upgrade of meter installations, inlet and outlet connections, replacement of boxes, brackets, bonding sealing, regulators, and any other equipment associated with meter asset management.

  • Ensuring that relevant standards and codes are applied and adhered to during the upgrade project.

  • Capture accurate records of upgrades updated into the GIS system.


Health and Safety:

  • Complying with and adhering to IEG’s accepted standards and procedures.

  • Where appropriate, taking responsibility for workplace hazards/risks you identify and communicated to management.

  • Undertaking regular reviews of workplace risks/hazards that are present in your work.

  • When, and if, necessary, participate in the investigation of accidents/incidents according to IEG’s procedures.

  • Undertaking appropriate and effective staff training when required or necessary.

  • Promoting a healthy and safe workplace.

  • Actively supporting health and safety initiatives.

  • Comply with any rehabilitation plan designed with you for a return to work after an accident.


The successful candidate will have the following:


  • Excellent verbal and numerical skills communication skills attention to detail and initiative

  • Effective communications with colleagues, peers, and stakeholders.

  • Exceptional organisational skills

  • Self-motivated

  • Good attention to detail.

  • Relevant ACS qualifications

  • Technical and operational knowledge relevant to LPG industries, Domestic and light Commercial Meter installations.

  • Capable of using app-based field interfaces.

  • Full clean driving licence

  • Clear Police Check

  • Full clean driving licence

  • Active listening skills, empathy, and the ability to interact with customers and colleagues in a tactful, sensitive, and appropriate manner.

  • Team player with ability to work as part of a team.

  • Positive, ‘can do’ attitude

  • Proven skills and ability in motivating and developing teams.
