What is your job and function?

Consultant Engineer, I carry out site audits and office audits to ensure compliance with current standards and procedures relating to all aspect of Gas Engineering and Metering.

How would you describe your relationship with Wilcocks?

Excellent, our objectives are consistent and I am fully supported.

 

What do you attribute to your success within your job?

Being fully focused on the client's objectives and achieving a successful outcome with minimum ado.

 

What is your biggest work-related achievement?

There are too many in 45 years with BG / Centrica. Winning Leeds Polytechnic Prize for HNC. Setting up several new business, part of a team obtaining a gas transportation licence from OfGem, Installation of Rolls Royce RB211 turbine on Natural Gas / Bio Gas combinations. However, leading focused, invigorated and happy teams has been a great pleasure.

 

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Continuing with a good life / work balance which is where I am now.

 

What advice would you bestow upon a young engineer starting their career?

Work hard, set goals and stay focused on them, always be positive, be a team player.

 

What is one interesting fact about you (not work-related)?

I have Count Honours representing West Yorkshire Squash Team.

 

How do you like to relax in your spare time?

At our caravan and walking in the North Yorkshire Moors and Coast followed by a pub lunch with good Yorkshire Ale. Nowt better.
