Property & Projects Manager
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 12 months (rolling contract considered dependent on performance)
Location: Various sites in Scotland
Salary: Between £34,166 and £38,222 - depending on experience
Hours of Work: 37.5 per week. Flexibility will be required

Overall Purpose of job
Act as Project Manager for specific projects and manage business as usual building maintenance and compliance activities as part of the team responsible for overseeing the safe delivery of buildings and property projects.
Key responsibilities of the job.
Act as Project Manager for property projects assigned.
Ensure ‘business as usual’ building management and compliance activities are delivered at all sites allocated.
Set contractors to work on projects and sites safely, ensuring all management and safety processes are followed. Support with contractor quality and performance management.
Follow project process ensuring all stakeholder engagement, communication, change management and financial procedures are followed and projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Ensure statutory compliance is being met through the delivery of stated audit and inspection processes.

Building Management and Compliance
Occupied buildings need to be fully compliant with no exceptions. Building assets will operate effectively and provide a maintained, healthy and safe workplace for staff.
Project Management
Projects need to be delivered on-time, on budget meeting Stakeholder requirements and critical success factors resulting in a quality and fit for purpose workplace which facilitates their core job delivery.
The role directly contributes to the following objectives;
Delivery of statutory compliance for occupied buildings
Successful delivery of capital asset and upgrade programme projects for building assets
Successful delivery of property major projects
Influence
The role holder will be expected to influence
Internal Stakeholders
Managers, team leaders and staff of various departments names as impacted stakeholders on the projects allocated.
Nominated Managers
Managers and authorise delegates for Occupied Buildings where the scope of support services is being delivered.
External Stakeholder
Directors, managers and staff, councillors, officers of organisations who are named as external stakeholder on projects allocated. Members of the public.
Specialists/Consultants
Directors, managers, designers, engineers, subject matter experts, staff of organisations who are employed/engaged as stakeholder on a project assigned.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Expertise
Hold or willing to work towards a relevant project management / BIFM qualification (i.e. Prince 2, IWFM L4 Cert or higher).
Formal NEC3 training.
Relevant safety qualification (i.e. NEBOSH Certificate, IOSH or similar).
Essential technical knowledge and experience
Relevant experience of project delivery within a construction/property environment.
Experience of Buildings/Facilities Management hard services (mechanical / electrical / elements of structure).
Awareness of building related statutory compliance, planned and reactive maintenance activities.
Fully conversant with construction related safety rules and associated procedures (inc setting contractors to work and permit systems).
Relevant financial experience in co-ordinating / administering project budgets (inc NEC3 processes).
Experience of planning processes and building regulation issues in construction.
Demonstrable understanding of audits and inspection actions and closeout.
Awareness of current construction related Health and Safety legislation and its application.
Demonstrable experience of project and stakeholder communications.
Prior experience of working with financial / building related computer management systems (Oracle iProcurement, FSI Concept or similar).
