The client is working in partnership on a 5 year contract to deliver the Network Mains Replacement programme and other related investment projects in North London.
The daily duties will include:
As a Design Officer you will be part of our clients Programme team who are responsible for CMO design and planning activities associated with the HSE gas mains replacement programme, network reinforcement and mains diversions.
Provide a full range of network design facilities, including quality assurance on IPO designs, operational phasing analysis and improvements to delivery and cost
Ensure compliance with relevant company and statutory obligations, policies and procedures and safety case
Deliver the DAF process and appropriate levels of approval
Provide Network Analysis phasing plans to Operations and develop this skill within the design team
Develop on-going relationships with the IPO to further improve the overall design process
Deliver the DRA handover process to Operations for delivery
Manage resources and people effectively and proactively in line with budget, best practice and relevant frameworks and procedures
Take responsibility for meeting agreed business performance target, controls and operating costs, achieving investment plans, managing risk effectively and delivering all agreed outputs
The successful candidate will have the following:
Minimum ONC in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent
Extensive experience undertaking responsibility for the full end to end network design process
Fully conversant in legislation, policy and procedures associated with the design process such as the Pipeline Safety Regulations, Rep 2, NP18 and NP37
Extensive experience in the use of network modelling and risk management tools such as MRPS, GBNA, MRP GDFO/ESYI and Synergi Gas
Fully conversant in the requirements of CDM and how this translates to the management of risk through Design
Effective communication and influencing skills
A good understanding of the RIIO regulatory framework
