CAD Designer

Location: Homebased – Travel to Guernsey is essential

Salary: £40 per hour

Job Description


The daily duties will include:


  • Produce engineering drawings like PFDs, P&IDs, Equipment Lay-out drawings, General Arrangement drawings, Isometrics etc.

  • The CAD technician/designer should be able to work under the guidance of appointed person to update existing drawings to an agreed standards

  • Produce new engineering drawings for specific projects

  • Carry out surveys to specify the pipeline routing with respect to general arrangement drawings

  • The project specific drawings will start from the process flow diagram, to develop P&ID from the PFD

  • Equipment lay out drawings with Tie-in connections

  • Pipework routing drawings

  • General Arrangement drawings

  • Isometrics

  • Bill of materials

  • In addition to the above the CAD designer / technician should be able to produce other drawings as requested.

  • The Post holder shall perform such duties, observe, and conform to any reasonable requests by Senior Management.

  • Will be required to attend site in Guernsey for the first few weeks and then can work from home.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Ability to produce drawings with engineering specifications.

  • Proficient in the use of Auto CAD

  • Have worked in the past for oil and gas related projects

  • Conversant with fittings sizes and dimensions with respect to international standards like ASME, API, BS EN etc.


Key Working Relationships


  • Liaise with the Asset Management team to build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication.

  • Work closely with senior Asset Management team to develop and enhance processes and the asset information systems.

  • Communicate and work closely with all departments within IEG.

Health and Safety

  • The post holder will be responsible for their own Health and Safety and the impact of their advice and actions on others and seek guidance where appropriate. They will be responsible for identifying any possible risks and near misses via the hazard reporting procedure.


Essential:


  • Relevant Engineering qualification – HND/HNC with 8 years’ experience

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD for P&IDs, PFDs and Schematics

  • Knowledge and ability to carry out survey works for modelling of the pipework

  • Good verbal communication skills, attention to detail and initiative.

  • Self-motivation, positive attitude, integrity, tolerance and confidence.

  • Active listening skills, empathy and ability to interact with others in a tactful, sensitive and appropriate manner.

  • Ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail.

  • Ability to observe the Company’s data Protection Policy

  • Competent IT Skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team including remote work

  • Self- motivated and able to demonstrate initiative with a flexible and reliable approach

  • Good organisation skills and the ability to work to a high degree of accuracy

  • An enquiring mind and willing to question and challenge

  • Police Check

  • Driving license


Desirable:


  • Technical and operational knowledge relevant to Process or Engineering sector
