An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Officer to join our friendly team on the Isle of Man!

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop relationships with key clients and stakeholders to ensure profitable outcomes, developers, commissioners and government.

  • Identify business improvement opportunities. 

  • Ensure all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures are managed effectively including company policies and procedure along with jurisdictions law and recommendations.

  • Be aware of industry innovation and new products that can be incorporated into the commercial plan to increase profits for the company.

  • Revenue generation Gas or other products.

  • Load Growth and retention through Boiler sales.

  • Champion Smart Home products and services.

  • Carry out home comfort checks.

  • Research and recommend new products for market.

  • Embrace the energy saving initiatives.

  • Prepare and submit agreed reports for performance at predetermined timescales.

  • To manage activities within agreed financial budgets and ensure expenditure is tracked.

  • Produce project appraisals for new business growth.

  • Liaise with all departments on customer service delivery.

  • Deal with Commercial/ Domestic customer’s queries.

  • Manage customer complaints to resolution.

  • Ability to write clear and concise procedures.

 

Requirements and Skills:

 

  • Demonstrate effective budget control.

  • Previous experience of writing procedures.

  • Ability to deliver projects on time, within budget and to the quality required.

  • Ability to assess and implement new technical/admin innovations that will support improved performance and productivity.

  • Use of IT and other relevant software.

  • Ability to provide high quality, responsive, efficient customer service and deal with customers’ enquiries professionally and to a high standard or re-direct more complex issues.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, customers, and external bodies.

  • Clear, concise, and articulate communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and delegate effectively.

  • Identify problems and the solutions to them.

  • Knowledge of sales functions and administration.

  • Ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate, and influence others to maximise efficiency.

  • Self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative with a flexible and reliable approach.

  • Positive and energetic approach towards work.

  • High level of oral and written communication skills.

  • Calm and focused under pressure.

 

Desirable Skill Set:


  • Diploma/Certificate in first line management or relevant field.

  • Membership of or working towards a relevant professional body (for example CMI, ILM, IOSH, IGEM).

  • Energy Saving Trust Accreditation.

  • Competence in producing energy performance certificates.

  • Demonstrate and understand compliance with all health & Safety and Environment Legislation.

  • Knowledge of ordering and procurement system.
