Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibility for ensuring that our Asset Integrity Management System is implemented effectively across Guernsey including the management and monitoring of ageing plant.
Lead, direct, motivate and display role model behaviour to employees within the Asset Management team
You will be included in the Duty Manager rota for Guernsey
Ensuring our Assets and Asset Systems comply with relevant Regulations, Codes of Practice’s, and Asset Standards
Responsible for developing and continuously improving key asset information systems
Develop and Manage Risk Based Inspection Approach to Fixed Assets
Responsible for consistent application of technical Management of Change process relating to all fixed assets
Develop and Manage Reliability Centred Maintenance Approach to Fixed Assets
Ensuring fixed assets perform their required function effectively and efficiently whilst protecting health, safety, and the environment
Technical Auditing of Risk Barriers, Asset and Asset System Compliance
Ensuring external specialist reports are recorded, reviewed, and acted upon
Ensuring asset risk is reduced through the continuous assurance of preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across IEG
Ensuring asset risk is controlled across capital expenditure (CAPEX) delivery projects through a proactive and reactive risk management and ALARP approach
Continuous improvement of key quality documents e.g. Technical Specifications and Internal Asset Standards
Responsibility for ensuring asset risk is reduced through the delivery of COMAH improvement projects, by working with SHE and the Operational service areas as required.
Responsibility for monitoring the performance and efficiency of all fixed assets under Guernsey Gas control through effective and reportable key performance indicators
Work closely with the Operational Leads to ensure that the Guernsey Gas’s fixed assets are operated in an efficient manner to ensure maximum performance and risk reduction
Providing asset integrity management Subject Matter Expertise to the asset management function and the rest of the business where engineering decisions are needed
Continually improve the operation of the staff and processes in the asset management function against the IEG North Stars.
Challenge inefficiencies and inaccuracies and provide technical, behavioural, cost and time solutions.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Have an undergraduate degree (equivalent) or higher in engineering field or be a Chartered Engineer approved by the British Engineering Council
Over 5 Years professional experience in an engineering and asset management environment
Understanding of technical standards/Codes of Practice within LPG and Gas Distribution Industry
Industry level health and safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH)
Industry level project management certification
Experience in remote team management
Experience working with COMAH Regulated sites
