Asset Maintenance Lead

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Execute planned preventative and corrective maintenance required to deliver against the asset management plan in accordance with schedule, ALARP and cost requirements.

  • Responsibility for scheduling all inspection, maintenance, and repairs to meet the required by date set, and ensure planned start and actual completion dates are specified to achieve efficient and consistent execution.

  • Responsible for the prioritisation of preventative and corrective maintenance of Safety Critical Equipment, and notification of reasons and proposed solution for any overdue actions to the Asset Operations Lead.

  • Demonstrate proactive planning through daily, weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Maintenance Plans that reflects the requirements of the asset management plan

  • Work closely with the LPG Site Controller and LPG Deputy Site Controller to ensure adequate forward planning is in place to delivery against maintenance plans.

  • Maximise operational performance and efficiency of LPG/Air Production Plant.

  • Responsibility for the Maintenance team competency matrix and training plan, and ensure adequate team competency, training, and succession planning is in place for all roles.

  • Site controller for the LPG sites as per the rota requirements for the business.

  • Responsible for safe control of operations for all staff within Maintenance team

  • Whilst acting as Site Controller, ensure safe working practices on all operational LPG sites.

  • Provide demonstration of ALARP by controlling asset risk by on-time execution of planned preventative and corrective maintenance tasks scheduled for all fixed assets.

  • Ensuring fixed assets perform their required function effectively and efficiently whilst protecting health, safety, and the environment.

  • Support Asset Management objectives by ensuring data is captured accurately within the Computerised Maintenance Management System when completing maintenance or project work tasks.

  • Manage all operational activities within agreed financial limits (OPEX/CAPEX) and provide both leading and lagging indicators as agreed with Asset Operations Lead in a timely manner to ensure effective monitoring.

  • Demonstrate effective budget and resource control when responsible for the delivery of Capital Projects.

  • Develop and implementing individual performances reviews and identify training requirements to ensure maintenance of competent employees.

  • Recruit, train and motivate staff to ensure that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.

  • Ensure that appropriate processes are in place to ensure valued delivery of the defined outcomes and that the processes are challenged to ensure that the value is maintained throughout the process.

  • Provide the required technical support for operational activities as scheduled in CMMS and where required within other areas of the business.

  • Prepare and submit agreed reports on performance and reliability to the Asset Operations Lead.

  • Continually improve the operation of the staff and processes in the asset management function.

  • Challenge inefficiencies and inaccuracies and provide solutions in line with IEG values and North Stars.

The successful candidate will have the following:


  • 5 years + technical IMR experience in the LPG / Oil/ Gas Industry

  • ONC (Minimum) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent or working your way to towards the qualification.

  • Over 5 Years professional experience in an engineering and asset maintenance environment

  • Experience leading operational teams

  • Demonstrate a good knowledge of design, construction, installation, operations, and maintenance.

  • Experience in all areas of LPG plant, production, and processing.

  • Ability to review system design documentation for compliance with design requirements, relevant regulations etc and provide specific recommended system and component technical changes.

  • Performing technical reviews of procurement specifications related to P+ID components

  • Ability to read process flow diagrams, P&ID’s and understanding of Process System description documents.

  • Demonstrates and understands compliance with all Health Safety & Environment legislation.

  • Demonstrable technical experience with the installation and maintenance of LPG / Production Processes.

  • Knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), PLC and Distributed Control Systems (DCS)

  • Human factors Engineering related to the development of software-based operator screens and associated control interfaces

  • Knowledge of system logic diagrams and developing functional requirement specifications for safety and non-safety related process and ESD Systems.

  • Experience of working with complex control theory.

  • Experience and/or understanding of proprietary PLC Systems
