We currently require three Project Engineers to work at both Thorpe Park, Leeds.

The purpose of the roles are to safely deliver robust and reliable substations, ensuring improved efficiency and value through collaboration and to manage a portfolio of capital projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Client’s interests in all aspects of project delivery.

  • Carry out the delegated duties of the Project Manager in accordance with TP146 and Construction Business Procedures (CON BP).

  • Pro active management of project SHESQ issues.

  • Ensure project performance meets or exceeds KPI’s (Notably TP106, Outage Changes, TLR clearance, IP4 closure).

  • Ensure project compliance with and adherence to all relevant legislation policies, guidelines, processes and procedures (CON BP & TP’s).

  • Where required instigate manufacturing assurance of procured items via NG third party contract.

  • Via Site Engineers & Site Managers ensure adherence to QA & Inspection/Test Plans.

  • Regularly review and manage the project and programme risk registers.

  • Enact the role of Commissioning Panel Chairman as defined inTP106 or work towards fulfilling the role.

  • Ensure project co-ordination in accordance with TP153.

  • Ensure all project outage requirements have been/are quantified and requested via the Construction outage Planner.

  • Management of project interface with NG MDE.

  • Management of the project interface with NG Network Operations (Wokingham) & NOC.

  • Management of the project interface with NG Land & Development and NG Communications.

  • Management of the project interface with NG ENI (Scheme Sponsor/ITL).

  • Represent NG on Unlicensed Projects (where applicable), provide single point of contact for NG Unlicensed customers.
  • Manage /coordinate any commercial agreements made directly between a supplier and National Grid

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years operational experience in an appropriate industry.

  • Significant SHESQ knowledge /experience.

  • Preferably a member of a recognised professional body.

  • Preferably degree qualified, but minimum HNC in an appropriate subject.

  • TP141, TP144 accreditation preferably.

Salary:  £30.00 per hour before training and £35.00 per hour after training (these rates are based on a Ltd Co basis)
