We are urgently looking for a time-served electrician to work at Huntingdon Compressor Station.


Principle Accountabilities:

  • Carries out all aspects of Electrical routine, planned and breakdown maintenance at designated compressor stations and associated AGIs to effect maximum reliability /availability and meet all safety and legislative requirements. Carries out risk assessments for all tasks.
  • Ensure comprehensive records are maintained for all plant, new and existing, and liaise directly with suppliers and contractors to ensure fitness for purpose of all equipment and labour. Supervise, or arrange supervision of, all contractors and equipment suppliers as required on site.
  • Carries out /assists with maintenance activities in other disciplines for which competent and trained. This will include work at other locations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive record of all maintenance work, routine and non-routine, for all electrical works. Ensure that planned maintenance work for the electrical discipline is as per the approved schedule. Maintain the computerised maintenance management system, and ensure that electrical work is input as soon as practical.
  • Participate in a 24-hour standby rota and respond to priority tasks, including emergency call outs, to rectify faults. Carry out the duties of Competent Person Electrical to EL6 and Process Controller for all permitry operations.
  • Assist with any design requests, and liaise with design and construction consultants, providing accurate records and information when required.
  • Ensure all reasonable requests from the line manager or representative are carried out safely and economically to the satisfaction of the Line Manger. Obtain and prepare costs for any planned works and/or equipment using costs from more than one source if requested to ensure the most economical cost. 
  • Maintain an up-to-date personal development portfolio and ensure competence for all duties. Request further training if required. Participate in the training of new staff and contractors; ensuring that all work carried out is done so at an agreed level of competence.
  • Supervise and/or assist contractors and equipment suppliers during planned or breakdown maintenance periods and ensure all work is carried out safely and as to agreed procedures.
Requirements:
  • 17 Edition IEE Regs
  • COMPEX
  • First aid training
Salary: £20.00 per hour max pay rate
