Limited Policy Statement
HEALTH
AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT
1. Introduction
The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires that a written health
and safety policy should cover three distinct aspects:
1.
A general policy, i.e., a statement of the safety principles to be
observed by the employer
2.
The organisation for carrying out this policy including, where
appropriate, reference to safety representatives and safety committees.
3.
The arrangements for implementing the safety policy
2.
General Statement
The
health, safety and welfare of employees and of consultants placed by the
Company with clients is of prime importance to the Company and is essential to
the efficient operation of its undertaking, as are the health and safety of
anyone else affected directly by the Company’s operations.
The
responsibility for safety at work rests upon all sectors and levels of
management, and the Company will ensure that this policy is pursued throughout
the organisation. The Company
will take all reasonably practicable precautions to ensure the health, safety
and welfare at work of its employees by providing:
a)
A safe working environment
b)
Safe systems of work
c)
Adequate instruction, information, training and supervision.
d)
Control of all situations likely to cause damage to property and
equipment
e)
Effective facilities for the treatment of injuries which occur at work
f)
Effective fire prevention and fire procedure
g)
Adequate facilities of consultation between management and employees
h) The making of such tests, examinations, samples and records as are
necessary to monitor the working environment.
The results will be make known to the Company’s Safety Representative
Rev.
11 i) Arrangements for
effective consultation with employees,
consultants and liaison with company clients.
Where
consultants are placed with clients, the Company will ensure, as far as is
reasonably practicable, that a comparable policy is followed by that client
covering the health and safety of the consultants.
The
Company expects employees and consultants to conform to this policy and to
comply with the relevant sections of the Health and Safety at Work Act and to
exercise all reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of
others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
The
overall responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of the Company and
its personnel is vested in the Company’s Managing Director Mr G Wilcock.
The
Company will give full backing to this policy and to the Company’s Safety
Representative, whose function it shall be to monitor and operate the policy,
and will support all those who endeavour to carry it out.
The company is committed to
Rev.
11 providing sufficient resources to allow this
policy to
be
implemented fully.
This assignment of resources is reviewed by the Managing
Director and also confirmed annually through the management review.
The
company is committed to the principle of continuous
Rev.
11 improvement in health and safety performance and to
this end
has
identified health and safety related objectives and reviews performance
against these in accordance with procedure HSP19.
The
company recognises that health and safety performance is a
Rev.
11 key aspect of its overall business performance
and ensures that
health
and safety requirements are integrated into its overall business procedures
and understood at all levels of management.
This policy is reviewed annually as part of the company’s management review
and on adhoc basis where identified as appropriate by the Managing Director. Copies of this policy and associated procedures and Guidance
Notes are issued in accordance with company procedure HSP1 and quality
procedure WCL-QA-03.

ENVIRONMENTAL
POLICY STATEMENT
The text of the policy is as follows:
Wilcock
Consultants Limited recognises that its activities have an environmental
impact and minimising any negative aspects of that impact is an integral part
of its overall business objectives. To
that end it will engage in the activities listed below:
1.
Establish
standards and management procedures to ensure that all the requirements of
relevant environmental legislation are met and that, where practically
possible, the environmental requirements of clients are met.
2.
Set regular objectives and targets to minimize our environmental
impacts and ensure continual improvement in our performance.
3.
Seek to reduce consumption of materials in all operations, reuse rather
than dispose wherever possible, and promote recycling and the use of recycled
materials.
4.
Aim to achieve energy efficiency in offices and the use of vehicles.
5.
If applicable to the company’s activities at any time, establish
procedures for minimizing the occurrence of and mitigating the impacts of
environmental incidents to prevent pollution and nuisance.
6.
Reduce, wherever practicable, the level of harmful emissions from any
activity.
7.
Ensure that any waste materials are dealt with appropriately.
8.
Ensure awareness of environmental issues within the company by
training.
9.
Monitor environmental performance.
10. Communicate on the
environment with interested parties, including employees, clients and
consultants placed by the company with clients and, where relevant, local
residents, and public authorities, through a spirit of open dialogue and
proactive involvement.
11. Publish this environmental policy in appropriate ways to confirm
commitment to the activities included in it.
12.
Commit to identifying and allocating the necessary resources

fully and successfully.
13.
Review the policy, at least annually as part of the annual
Rev
11 management review, and where necessary on
an ad-hoc basis in
response
to any circumstances which would necessitate its review.
Copies of this policy are displayed in the office and
issued to all interested parties.

QUALITY
POLICY STATEMENT
The Company
specialise in providing trained and experienced personnel on a contract basis
to companies in the gas industry. The
Company also provides bespoke training courses and carries out specific
consultancy project for gas industry clients.
The
objective of the Company management is to provide these services in a manner
which satisfies their customers needs and expectations and which conforms to
contractual and regulatory requirements.
The company considers its customers to be both the clients with whom
individual personnel are placed and the personnel themselves.
The Top
Management of the company, as defined by the Managing Director is committed
to:
1.
the development and implementation of a quality management system in
accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000
2.
ensuring compliance with requirements of the quality management system
3.
Continually improving the effectiveness of the quality management
system.
The
objectives of the quality management system include ensuring that:
1.
Client requirements are identified and met with the aim of enhancing
client satisfaction.
2.
All requirements regarding the service provided by the company are met.
3.
The quality policy is communicated and understood at all levels of the
organisation.
4.
Appropriate quality objectives are set by Top Management and
performance reviewed
5.
The effectiveness of quality management is continually reviewed and
improved
Quality objectives are established
and performance reviewed by Top Management on the basis of the recommendations
made in the annual management
review meetings.
The
policy and the associated quality objectives are to be displayed in the
offices and issued to all new employees and placed consultants.
