Job purpose:
To oversee work carried out on site, by managing the operatives/sub contractors and materials /plant /transport, ensuring quality, safety, customer satisfaction and compliance with NRSWA noticing. Providing necessary leadership and support to the operatives /sub contractors to enable them to undertake their roles effectively.
Nature and scope of the role:
- Ensure operatives carry out the works in a safe, effective manner.
- Enforce and adhere to the companys policies and procedures.
- Ensuring that staff are trained and competent.
- Ensure good communication channels are maintained
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant local authority representatives and supply chain.
- Ensure delivery of mains laying abandonment programme to agreed timescales
- Carry out the day-to-day supervision of operatives ensuring workflow is issued efficiently.
- Accurately record all work carried out by operatives on a daily /weekly basis.
- Ensure all operatives apply Code of Practice 2 and Chapter 8 (Signing and Guarding) and actively promote commitment to Health & Safety.
- Record all operatives timesheets and submit weekly.
- Ensure all operatives competencies are up to date.
- To liaise with local authorities representatives at site level.
- To attend and participate in internal management and programming meetings.
- Keep abreast of company policies and procedures and ensure that they are applied fairly and consistently.
- Ensure the needs of the customers customer are recognised when carrying out the companys contractual obligations.
- Ensure the following is adhered to:
- Formal site audits are completed in line with company policy
- Measurement and Record Sheets are fully completed and returned Daily for works complete
- Every job must have a Completion of Reinstatement Form and return to the Depot the following day.
- Incident Report Forms should be returned to the Depot within 3 days.
- Wages – All Time Sheets to be approved signed and sent to HR by Monday pm each week.
- All overtime in line with policy must receive verbal approval by the COE backed up with an Overtime Form the following day
- Transport/Plant Breakdown Report returned to the Depot at the end of week.
Carry out any other duties appropriate to the post.

- SCO Competent Person 1, 2 & 5
- NRSWA Certificate
- Current UK driving licence
